Playing the bamba
The bamba is a commonly used musical instrument in the musical groups that play krioyo music on Bonaire. This is a universal instrument, which can be found in Africa, South America and Asia. This therefore proves that it is a universal instrument that in all likelihood came to the islands with the slaves from Africa. It has now become an organological heritage of Bonaire. The fact is that it is an imported musical instrument, but has now become part of the krioyo music and is still there to this day. The bamba is made from kaƱa brabu(Bamboo) which washes ashore.
